Meet Your Doula

Core Values

Reproductive Justice

The Divine Mama Doula Project believes that equitable access to to quality reproductive care is a human right. It was born out of a need to counter generations of obstetrical violence and reproductive abuse committed against Black, Indigenous, and other marginalized bodies.

Cultural Awareness

One's culture deeply influences their beliefs around childbirth and reproductive care. The Divine Mama celebrates the diversity of our families' cultures with sensitivity and respect.

Diversity of Care

The Divine Mama Doula Project offers a wide range of approaches to childbirth and reproductive health. We are constantly expanding our range of offerings: homeopathy, placenta encapsulation, aromatherapy, and much more.

Education

APPLIED KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!  We want ALL of our clients to feel that they are confident in their knowledge of reproductive processes.  The Divine Mama Doula Project knows the importance of learning at this pivotal time.

Evidence-Based Support

The Divine Mama Doulas are dedicated to providing the most up-to-date, evidence-based information and support throughout your journey.  We encourage birthing people to make confident, informed decisions that are best for their families.

Trauma-informed Care

Too often birthing people's needs go unmet as a result of unaddressed trauma they have experienced at one time or another.  The Divine Mama Doulas acknowledge this by offering additional resources and support all while providing service with empathy and healing.

Positive Birthing Practices

The Divine Mama Doula Project aims to demystify the process of "natural" birth--that is delivered vaginally and free of pain medication while limiting short and long term interventions for for both the birthing parent and baby.  We endorse the power within birthing people to have a positive and empowering experience.

Community Growth and Service

We aim to connect our families with local community resources and organizations that increase family well-being.  As this project expands, so will the community with it.
